RECOLOR REQUESTS
Bringing your color back to life
Color is alive, and like anything living, it changes with time. Sun, skin, and the simple passage of years soften even the boldest pieces, turning vivid tones quiet and blurring the edges of what once glowed. Recoloring breathes new life into your tattoo, restoring the vibrancy, depth, and luminous watercolor tones that made you fall in love with it in the first place.
I recolor the entire tattoo, never just patches. Freshly brightened areas won't match the faded color around them, and spot treatments leave a piece feeling uneven and disconnected. By re-saturating the whole design, every color rises together and your tattoo reads as one harmonious, living piece again, just as it was always meant to be seen.
The Experience
My private studio, Alchemist Ink, was created as a space for connection and transformation, not just tattooing. People don't sit in my chair for ink alone. They come with stories, grief, hope, and questions, and I listen. For many clients, a recolor feels like a reunion with a piece that carries years of meaning, and it's an honor to revisit that story together.
Recoloring is primarily offered for tattoos I've created, since I know the colors and layers already living in your skin. I will also consider recoloring work by other artists, as long as I feel my style can shine through in the finished piece. Once your request is accepted, I'll look closely at how your tattoo has aged and plan a session to bring every color back to its full brilliance.
Pricing
Recoloring is billed at $300 per hour or less. Because every tattoo ages differently, pricing varies with the size, condition, and history of the work, and I'll share what to expect once I've seen your piece.
Submit Your Request
The more I know, the better I can see what your tattoo needs. In your request, share a clear, well-lit photo of your tattoo in natural light, its approximate size, and how old it is. Let me know whether it's one of my pieces or was created by another artist, and tell me what the tattoo means to you. From there, I'll let you know how we can bring it back to life.
