After 16 years of owning The Raw Canvas, Justin began a new chapter in 2024 with the opening of Alchemist Ink, his private studio at 530 Main Street, Unit A, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He's thrilled to share this space with Melora Monticone, his dear friend and tattooing partner of 15 years.

The decision wasn't easy, but it felt right for this season of his life. Running a full studio and gallery meant years of managing employees, schedules, and the countless details of a growing business. Stepping into a private studio has allowed Justin to simplify, slow down, and return to what drew him to art in the first place: creating meaningful work and connecting deeply with the people who sit in his chair.

This new space also opens the door for Justin to devote more of his energy to his fine art practice. Drawing from the same love of nature, human faces, and the dance between structure and chaos that defines his tattoo work, he is expanding his paintings and original pieces for galleries and collectors. Tattooing remains at the heart of what he does, now alongside a growing body of fine art.

Justin is deeply grateful for the clients, artists, and community whose support made The Raw Canvas what it was, and he looks forward to this next chapter with all of you.
