Shifting Falls captures the moment light breaks through. Deep indigo gives way to a rush of magenta and rose, gathering into a luminous white glow as it passes between dark, weathered forms. Below, the color falls in crimson streams, like water, like fire, like something releasing after holding on too long.
Gold leaf climbs the edges like light catching on stone, and a resin finish gives the surface a liquid depth that changes as you move past it. The tall, narrow format draws the eye downward through the piece, the same way a waterfall does.
This work is about transition: the passage through narrow places, and the brilliance that waits on the other side.
